Instance – 7 days in a week

Doesn’t it feel as though,
every seven days,
time resets, in a way?

One might even feel a similar jolt
of energy at the start of each day –
as we are granted the ability
to re-create one’s self
after a good night’s rest –
Though the nights, not countless

Because

By its nature, a week
conveys a cyclical sense.
Like a chapter in one’s life,
with a capital at the start
And a period at its end.
So clear, as it always is
when written in retrospect.

The unbroken cycle of 7 days.
Repeating in perpetuity.
Never more and never less.

Because

It is this constant which meets no end.
It is this cycle we cannot escape nor mend.
It is what binds us to each day –
Until the day we live to see less than those 7.

Yes, the months, too, shall pass.
Some might lag, while others fly by away.
But, it is our seven days –
keeping the months at bay,
while the weeks never relent
in their structural integrity.

Because

The days in a week can never change –
They are constant; they are given:
One name to each day.
It is instead the months and years,
adjusting to make way
for each of our seven days
to pass in perpetual care.

Because

It is this constant which meets no end.
It is this cycle we cannot escape nor mend.
It is what binds us to each day –
Until the day we live to see less than 7.
